.11th Week Match Preview.

Boogis VS Bukit Tinggi

Boogis has all but secured the second place of the RFL for the second season in a row. Disciplined and consistent as they may be, they still lack that cutting edge and ability to stop opponents from scoring against them, and finding a clean sheet. Nevertheless, their time will come and they look like a solid team for years to come. Aman and Dalvin are the two mammoths and spine of the team, with the pace of Riz and creativity of Iqbal always breaking the opponents' heart. This match is no more than an exhibition match for them, but knowing Bukit Tinggi, perhaps they should be careful for a surprise.

This has been a memorable first season for RFL latest team, Bukit Tinggi. No one saw them winning the very first game against Gastroboi, but they did and fully deserved it. These bunch of mates just wants themselves to have fun and make the RFL as a place for relaxation. Yan and Rafiq has done their jobs well to get the goals for Bukit Tinggi, the mean and lean Anol has been enjoying his final months before graduation, plus they have support from the pedestrian Bond, Aiman and Hilman. Bald and diminutive as he may be, goalkeeper Murad always gets his body on the line and protecting the team goal. This last match agains Boogis might be a bit difficult for them.

Players to watch

Dalvin (Boogis)-big man for big occasions
Azri (Boogis)-beginning to get his form
Aiman (Bukit Tinggi)-rarely seen playing due to rotation
Rafiq (Bukit Tinggi)-his physique belies his goalscoring tally for the team

ladbrokes.com predictions Boogis 4-1 Bukit Tinggi

De' Knights VS Spartans

It has been a success story for De'Knights this season as they have beaten most of the odds against them. The quick reflexes and agility of goalkeeper Lavin, the marauding attacks and rockets of a shot from Damo, Shan's ability for doing the unthinkable and making a headache for opponents, plus the high team spirit all accounts for the mid table success that they are enjoying now. Some of them has been training with the Uni team too. In this match, they will try to gain on their momentum after some long break as their 6th place in the RFL table are secure. But Damo can't do the job all alone though and his defenses has be alert at all times.

Spartans has been steadily climbing the RFL table and now sits pretty in 7th place. But should they fall, Le'Samba and Saints would be more than happy to reap the profits. Spartans are playing the brand of physical and no nonsense football, where only the result counts. Sort of sound like an old school English football team. At the back, lanky goalkeeper Faizal has been solid all season, but not too spectacular. Rama has benefited from playing more up front and has presented the team with priceless goals. With the strong midfield of Ganesh Kumar, Ong Wee Kee and Kumarendran, De' Knights should be in for a surprise in this mid table clash.

Players to watch

Sam (De'Knights)-fiery and always gives his all
Kanthaan (De'Knights)-controlling the midfield and spraying passes
Ong Wee Kee (Spartans)-he runs all day long
Thamil (Spartans)-can come from nowhere and steals the ball away

bet365.com predictions De'Knights 3-2 Spartans

Akula VS Saints FC

With so many players in the team, its hard to find the correct mixture and competitiveness for one of RFL's new team this season, Akula. Akula, meaning "shark" in russian, although has a mean sounding team name, almost always find themselves at the other end of things. But with a squad full of seasoned players, they can be sure to always a bit of inspiration. Newcomers Busu and Nazmi are still raw, Dol is unpredictable, and Azzam together with Nasri just go around doing their business, defending the team. Will Palong bring the half-fit fans favorite Maro again for this clash?

Saints has been more solid and more adventurous this season. Captain Toh even got his first ever goal, with a cracker of freekick against Gastroboi. Agni will again as usual be doing his bit in getting that odd goal, while Prem will just run and run harassing the other team. The big Gajaen likes to play more up front, supplying the passes to fellow attackers. Kuhen and PK will do their damage more as ever from the subs bench. In this match, Saints will go all out for 3 points, for sure, as they, like Le'Samba and Spartans, are chasing the bragging points for getting the 7th place in the final RFL game of this season.

Players to watch

Azwani (Akula)-the quiet man always does his business quietly
Seth (Akula)-more likely to dribble all the way up front
Siva (Saints)-taking his time off from RMSA every week to play football
Gajaen (Saints)-has probably forgot how to be a goalkeeper

sbobet.com predictions Akula 2-1 Saints

Gastroboi VS Chittapa

The team in pink has played well without the addition of their former star goalkeeper Minjie. New goalie Jivan has done a respectable job of trying to fill in the gloves of the legendary Minjie and keeping up the expectations. Gastroboi has fallen a bit in the RFL table compared to last season but they have been playing more offensively and scored more goals than their past seasons. The addition of ex-Copa player Nabil added more style and finesse but their defenses has been creaking a bit, with captain Qye now opting to play up front.

The super-fit and committed Chittapa team will be going all out against Gastroboi to get that 3rd place in the RFL, which would of course bring a big smile for Arulkanesh and his team in yellow. Or sometimes blue. With the strike force of Arulbotak, Brahma, Thanes, Sathiya and the defense superbly marshaled by the evergreen Arulkanesh, Chittapa is expected to strut their stuff against an unpredictable Gastroboi side. Sathiya and Brahma will be looking to relish on the team in pink whose defense is not actually the best in the league.

Players to watch

Mok (Gastroboi)-Gastro veteran Mok is now playing at defense
Dinie (Gastroboi)-can sometimes do the odd job as goalkeeper. who knows
Ganesan (Chittapa)-not afraid to shoot from distance. prone to silly mistakes
Brahma (Chittapa)-sometimes not playing up to his best standards

magnum.com predictions Gastroboi 2-2 Chittapa

Le'Samba VS Dru N' Cos

Le'Samba plays with a swagger like a Brazilian team. But will or will not Minjie, the dependable goalkeeper, play again this week? Harinthiran played bravely against a rampant Boogis side last time around, but surely his services are more suited up front. The pacy VK and the tricks of Kayrezza will be counted upon this time against Dru N Cos, the team with the best defense and offense of the league. Abilash would most probably pull out some of his rare magic and try to score that odd goal. The defenses are quite solid there, with Magesh and Lingesh calling the stops.

With no other team able to catch them now, Dru N Cos is the RFL Champions of the 3rd season. The brainchild of captain Thiva and his mates, Dru N Cos went out from the very first game to show fans, the meaning of true football. Stylish, no nonsense, fierce, and no mercy to any team whatsoever. They scored the most goals and let in the most few. Consistency has been the key for their game. Captain Thiva rather interestingly has been a champion of RFL 3 times in a row, but with different teams, Chittapa, G15, and now, Dru N Cos. Fearless striker Avinesh has been the star player, as does dependable Yumnesh, Balin and the others.

Players to watch

Magesh (Le'Samba)-gives his heart out every week
Harinthiran (Le'Samba)-twists, turns, and scores
Yumnesh (Dru N Cos)-dribbles as fast as he talks
Avinesh (Dru N Cos)-looking to solidify his position as RFL top scorer

bwin.com predictions Le'Samba 1-4 Dru N Cos

Geng Malaysia VS Copa Cobana

The clash most people will be waiting for. The hunt for the 3rd spot in the RFL table. Geng Malaysia is a team on a mission, and with goalkeeper Pokwe looking more confident week in and week out, Afiq firing the shots, Awe cleaning the mess up at the back, they have truly find their own brand of football. The MIC Cup Champions are up against underachievers and an understrength Copa Cobana team. Che Pooh , Hilmi and the pedestrian Akmal has proved to be more than able than just warming up the substitute's bench.

Copa Cobana has come a long way. But yet, they have found that elusive RFL crown very hard to get. Team members has come and go, but the spine of the team is still there, and they will to their utmost to get the result they want from a team on form, Geng Malaysia. 3rd spot is the best they could get, but statistically, Chittapa would also have to somehow lose against Gastroboi. Shafiq will be calling the shots as usual and Butterfingers Boo will hope that the size of his body will scare the opponents off. Shazli as usual will pluck the strings in midfield with Alif, substitute Hadiey itching to make an impact and the adventurous defender Faiz always looming to dribble his way and help the attack.

Players to watch

Che Pooh (Geng Malaysia)-majorly instrumental for the yellows this season
Pok We (Geng Malaysia)-his voice can be heard from out of the sportzal
Shafiq (Copa Cobana)-a rifle of a shot
Boo Affiz (Copa Cobana)-needs to direct his defenses more often

paddypower.com predictions Geng Malaysia 2-2 Copa Cobana

.10th Week Match Preview.

Geng Malaysia VS Bukit Tinggi

Fresh from their win of the MIC Cup last weekend, GM would most likely follow that up with a predictable big win against lowly Bukit Tinggi. Dubbed by some as geng "Afiq dan rakan2" or "Afiq and the others", the team has been overly dependent on top striker Afiq. His eye for goal and intelligent positioning is telling, but without the added steel by Awe and Che Pooh, Afiq wouldn't have much of an easy time up front. Fakhrul is also there with his pace. The tall Akmal has been given the red card last time around. Pokwe looks like he is going to race with a Mat Rempit with all that full body protection. Though this doesn't harm his excellent reflexes at all. GM is in good form, and this would probably be a walkover.

Bukit Tinggi has 10 official players. And they rotate 2 people every week. Which makes it hard for me to know who's playing or not! Nevertheless, they play futsal for fun and intend to give all their players a good time on the court, in front of the crowd. In Murat and Lan, they have 2 dependable keepers. Mate would most likely conduct their play and plan their attack with Yan and Rafiq ready up front. Loudspeaker Anol as usual will bark his order to his colleagues like an EPL manager does, and his presence sure does scare the opponents. They were unlucky to lose to Spartans by virtue of a single goal. Knowing Bukit Tinggi, they sure wouldn't just go and park the bus in front of the goal, in the spirit of having fun, even against the might of GM.

Players to watch

Afiq (GM)- hungry for more goals
Hilmi (GM) - has lost a bit of pace
Mate (Bukit) - as cool as ice, controls the game perfectly
Anol (Bukit) - Murat's big bodyguard in front of goal

ladbrokes.com predictions Geng Malaysia 4-0 Bukit Tinggi

Copa Cobana VS Dru N Cos

Once again, Copa has been jinxed and couldnt finish their promising start in the MIC Cup by falling against the full-blooded attack of Chittapa in the knock out stages. Copa will be able to recall everyone's favorite sharpshooter Shafiq and the predatory Hadiey with his eBay futsal shoes. Boo has performed admirably in between the sticks but he has his moments of gaffes. Faiz shows more promise galloping up front rather then defending, perhaps defending not being his strongest point. Shazli as usual will be the engine of the team together with Alep. Could they stay strong and fit enough for both halves to perhaps dent DNC's title hopes?

The giants of RFL didnt represent the league in the last MIC Cup but they had their players doing the odd jobs with other teams, with mixed results. As usual, the bulk of DNC would most probably be tired and fatigued as they form the spine of the uni's futsal team, having to take rigorous training every Friday night by captain Thiva. But surely they dont want to take this as an excuse. Buoyed by the return of Avinesh, DNC is complete and will be ready to tear any team apart. Everyone bar goalkeeper Rajdave has managed to blast a goal inside the opponents' place. The flying Singh would be at his utmost best to defend against the raids of Copa's attack.

Players to watch

Shazli (Copa)- his team play depends on his mood
Hadiey (Copa) - the silent killer is the second top scorer of Copa
Thiva (DNC) - lately looks sluggish but still has that quality touch
Rajdave (DNC) - the penalty area is his fortress

bet365.com predictions Copa Cobana 2-3 DruNcos

Akula VS De' Knights

Akula had a long break from futsal as they didnt play in the last MIC Cup. Although this really actually mean nothing. They however almost beat the odds when they held Copa Cobana to only for a 2-1 win, instead of a rout. This though was helped by the absence of Copa's Faiz, making the team having no substitute. An inspired run from AL ends with a fine goal from a difficult angle, leaving Copa's Boo hapless. They will be buoyed with the return of regular keeper Nazmi and fellow RFL debutant, Zulalif.

De' Knights followed on their strong form in the league by almost beating everyone in the MIC Cup, but in the end they fell under the pressure against the superiority of Boogies FC. Goalkeeper Lavin shows that he is as agile as Dinie or Minjie and maybe brave as Rajdave. The unpredictable Shan was a revelation but Damo's calming presence at the back and their many subs, Damo perhaps has finally found his perfect team.

Players to watch

Palong (Akula)- the multi use captain has performed admirably in any position
AL (Akula)- RFL boss searching for more goals before graduating this year
Arasan (DK)- unlucky lately in front of goal, but still deadly
Damo (DK)- wears his heart on his sleeves

sbobet.com predictions Akula 1-4 De'Knights

Spartans VS Chittapa

Spartans did not have a happy outing last time around in the MIC Cup, though credit to them they did manage to get a draw once. Captain Satishratnam yet to score more goals after his boomer against Gastroboi last time around. The all-action Ganesh Kumar might not look pleasing to the eye, but he is crucial for the team, almost like the team's heartbeat. Rama has found a likeness up front and his perseverance has now been rewarded with a few couple of goals for Spartans lately. They will defend strongly against a strong Chittapa side.

First runner ups of the MIC Cup can be proud of being almost the only team who has been able to reach the final of virtually any cup available. Chittapa surely has a penchant for cup ties, with their superb stamina and durability. Updesh might want to let the ghost of the failed penalty kick in the final of the MIC Cup against Pokwe pass and make an impressive cameo as usual. Tall striker Sathiya loves to get the crowd going and captain Arulkanesh is never shy of booming from distance. Putting individuality aside, Chittapa might be a genuine top 3 contender.

Players to watch

Satishratnam (Spartans)- has a liking for shooting from the flanks
Ganesh Kumar (Spartans)- the defensive fulcrum of Spartans
Arulkanesh (Chittapa)- the captain can help in counter attacks from the defensive position
Arulbotak (Chittapa)- hot blooded but gifted player of the ball

Boogis VS Le' Samba

Boogis' fine cup run was ended by an inspiring performance from Pokwe's Geng Malaysia. Nevertheless, it is for the top of the RFL table that all the Boogis players are looking for. Boogis looks vulnerable now that captain Aman and Dalvin are rarely paired together in defense, perhaps due to their rigorous training for the upcoming Intervarsity Games. Iqbal now look more to his best after getting the top scorer award in the MIC Cup. There should be no problem for them getting 3 points if they are focused enough. Le' Samba is a tricky team.

Le' Samba has lost a bit of their good form and they were harshly beaten by an inspired Gastroboi intent on getting all 3 points for themselves last time around. Goalkeeper Minjie, so often the hero for Le' Samba this season, made some rare uncharacteristic mistakes which the Gastro strikers gladly pounced upon. Defensive towers Magesh and Lingesh might struggle against the pace and trickery for Boogis' strikers. Watch for VK or Kayrezza to spring a surprise against a tired Boogis defense.

Players to watch

Aman (Boogis)- has favored a more attacking role lately
Riz (Boogis)- ready to pounce on any defensive error
VK (Samba)- the lively striker not likely to be bullied by Boogis' brute strength
Abilash (Samba)- always taking it easy on the court

bwin.com predictions Le' Samba 1-4 Boogis

Saints FC VS FC Gastroboi

Saints would be delighted to get all 3 points against Bukit Tinggi last time. The Oranges depend mostly on strikers Agni and Gajaen to get that rare goal. Toh as usual will play up front as the game progresses, confusing fellow opponents and taking advantage of it. Prem would be running all day and provide the crosses for fellow teammates. Siva and PK provides fresh legs for the tired ones. Against an unpredictable Gastroboi, Saints will have to look for some divine inspiration.

With only their second win in the bag, against the fluorescent yellow Le' Samba, Gastroboi has come a long way in the RFL. Formed by the core that still remains since the very first RFL, captain Qye, Nfizree and Mok, Gastroboi seems to has its second generation of players. But their motto will still be, to play for fun, and "jogo bonito". Against Saints, the pinks must surely take the fight seriously if they want to end their season on a high. But then again, this is Gastroboi, and they are unpredictable. A fight to the end perhaps.

Players to watch

Toh (Saints)- the mastermind of Saints FC
Agni (Saints)- the loyal lieutenant and Mr. Dependable
Jivan (Gastro)- finally had his first clean sheet of the season against Le' Samba
Mok (Gastro0- takes the game as easy as it gets

paddypower.com predictions Saints 2-2 Gastroboi

.9th Week Match Preview.

De’ Knights VS Dru N Cos

De’ Knights were taken by surprise when Boogis’ Anand scored the very first goal. They did well to cope with the pressure and relentless attacks from the red machine. Hardworking Damo managed to get a goal for himself as does Arasan. Shan was promising playing up front, at times managing to outwit Boogis’ star defender Dalvin. Sam marshalled the midfield but couldn’t get the final touch in front of the goal. In fact, DK had many one-on-one situations but it was all dealt with by Boogis’ keeper. Arasan and his fellow strikers couldn’t get much taste of the ball as they were consistenly shrugged off by the defence and midfield of Boogis, giving them not much of a chance. They did well in getting 2 goals from Boogis, and so their form in attack proves not to be a problem at all.

On a day where team captain Thiva had everything going wrong, he should be grateful that multitasking Lavan had a go for 3 of the goals Dru N Cos scored against Spartans. There was always this worry that the team was going to be a bit rusty after so long a break, so it was not surprising that they lost a bit of their slick passing game. Playing a central role upfront, Thiva was surely disappointed having been denied by Spartans keeper Faizal numerous times. Yumnesh and Hari were busy bees sweeping Spartans’ attack and never let them even have a go at their goal. Rajdave was dead sure he will be keeping a clean sheet but for the shenanigans of their defence in letting Spartans’ Rama score a goal. Though that was the only bleak point. Champions-elect DNC had a scary night having to fight off Spartans’ resilience, but it was 3 points in the bag in the end.

Players to watch

Lavin (DK)- impressive goalie with good reflexes
Arasan (DK)-lost some of his form, but still deadly in front of the goal
Balin (DNC)-has good feet for a big man
Yumnesh (DNC)-watch out for his mazy dribbles

ladbrokes.com predictions De’ Knights 1-3 Dru N Cos

Le’Samba VS FC Gastroboi

Le Samba was obviously planning to get something out of this. But then again, they were up against high flying Chittapa, although defeat was not an option. Lingesh and Magesh combined superbly to deny Chittapa any chance of getting near Minjie’s goal. However, at the other end, the creative abilities of Kayrezza was limited to just a few bit of passes as he too was firmly man marked by the tough Arulkanesh and his defence line. In an unfortunate event, Kayrezza was accidently swinged at like a golf ball by the mistimed boot of Sathiya. There were some bright moments when VK and Harinthiran had their shot at goal, but second half keeper Arulkanesh gave them no chance. Minjie raged at his defences for more focus and attitude, but in the end they were no match for a rampant Chittapa, losing 4 goals to 0.

Gastroboi got off to a bad start for the second half of the season when they were soundly beaten 4-0 by the raging Copa Cobana. The first half of the match went not so much eventful but for the goal Copa scored first by the opportunist take of Copa’s Faiz, following a Gastro defensive mishap. Gasto went forward with guns blazing but just couldn’t get that final touch with the partnership of Dinie and Nfizree evidently not working as well as they had expected. Mok had trouble containing the pace of Copa’s attacks and Naqqib lost a bit of his composure at the back. Jivan meanwhile had to be alerted at all times for Copa’s long range shots. Reinforcement came in the form of Qye and Fareez who rushed straight to the battlefield, as there were no clues to where they were in the 1st half. Fareez did well to bolster the defence and Qye did spice up the attack a bit. But the loss of focus, tiredness and lack of understanding compelled to a 4-0 loss in the end. Nabil didn’t play in this game, and perhaps we should see his action this time around.

Players to watch

Isaac (Samba)-a reliable sub who can replace some tired legs
Harin(Samba)-top striker for Samba raring to score again
Nfizree(Gastro)-tall striker a bit out of form now
Mok (Gastro)-has problems with pacy players but a world beater on any day

bet365.com predictions Le’ Samba 2-2 Gastroboi

Akula VS Copa Cobana

Akula summed it all up when they lost 5-0 against the might of Geng Malaysia. Akula started off brightly when they dealt with everything given to them, credit to their keeper Nazmi who looked like he’s the king of the world. But then after the relentless GM attack, they were beaten mercilessly 5-0. But really, that shouldn’t have been the final scoreline. Akula had chances after chances to score themselves. Busu and Palong combined greatly but couldn’t finish it off with a goal, with the terrifying sight of the menacing Pok We in GM’s goal. Indeed, Pok We again denied a great chance when he blocked a one-on-one chance presented to Akula’s Zulalip. Big man Azzam crumbled under the pressure and missed a chance to take home a goal when his penalty kick hit the upper bar of the goal and out of sight. Their spirit needs no questioning, however the lack of focus is appalling. The teamwork is there, but they were also missing their greatest assets, Azwani and Seth. Expect them to bounce back again.

Copa Cobana danced their way through the pink maze and blasted 4 goals past the hapless Jivan of Gastroboi. In the back, goalkeeper Boo didn’t have much to do but did very well when called upon. Shafiq was a thorn in Gastro’s side, as he twists and turns Mok around, getting 2 goals in the process, superbly taken out of the penalty box, as Jivan had no chance of palming it away. From a swift counterattack, Faiz scored the first goal and this got the ball rolling. Captain Shazli marshalled the defence, not letting the hardworking Gastro strikers Dinie and Zufar even a smell of the goal. Alep got his goal thanks to his part in a quick counterattack. Hadiey as a sub managed to trouble the Gastro defences, and there was no sign showing that they miss the creativity of Nasaei. Copa on the run again.

Players to watch

Azzam (Akula)-tall defender has a knack for scoring goals
Dol (Akula)-the arsenal fan makes a reliable sub
Shazli (Copa)-the captain has a big responsibility with marshalling the defence and midfield
Hadiey (Copa)-has a gem of a left foot

sbobet.com predictions akula 0-3 copa cobana

Boogis VS Saints FC

Boogis continued their relentless pursuit of table topping DruNCos with a 4-2 thrashing of De’ Knights. In a surprise attack, Boogis’ Anand managed to squeeze the ball through to score the first goal of the game. Other scorers for Boogis includes Azri, Dalvin and the club’s namesake, Bugis. Aman didn’t play much of the match, and Iqbal couldn’t provide the usual tricks and flicks to start off an attack. Nevertheless they had their keeper Pa’an much to thank for saving their blushes and giving DK only 2 goals away. Dalvin’s marauding runs up front from his defensive position was menacing and the attacks were pleasing to watch. They got the 3 points needed, thus the chase for RFL glory continues.

Orange-clad Saints looked intend on getting full points as it was them instead of the usually attack minded Bukit who seemed to control the game. Gajaen made some promising runs in front but the gangly striker mistimed most of the passes or shots given to him. Toh playing as the keeper wasn’t really bothered in making any saves as the Bukit attacks were toothless and there was nobody to finish them off. Although in a slight rare moment, Bukit’s Rafiq managed to somehow steal the limelight and scored pass a bemused Toh. Second half came and it seems that the captain managed to inspire the team players somehow. From almost the middle of the court, Saints’ Agni scored a beautiful cracker which took Bukit’s Lan totally by surprise. Agni scored again from a perfectly executed teamwork when he blasted in his second goal, thus the score line becoming 2-1 to Saints. Agni then changed with his buddy Toh and played as the second goalkeeper for Saints that night. Saints were awarded a penalty kick but Prem couldn’t finish it off under pressure, so Saints FC just have to settle for 2 goals against 1, but with a very important 3 points in the bag.

Players to watch

Riz (Boogis)-can score a goal in a flash
Dalvin (Boogis)-tough and solid defender with an eye for the goal
Toh (Saints)-perhaps he’s bored being a goalie, but it is his best position
Agni (Saints)-Saints top scorer not afraid to shoot from afar

bwin.com predictions Boogis 4-1 Saints FC

Geng Malaysia VS Chittapa FC

Geng Malaysia roared back to life with a happy outing against a toothless Akula, being victors of a 5-0 match. Initially, GM were frustrated to see that Akula’s goalie Nazmi were equal to everything they threw at, though after a neatly executed set piece play, GM’s Che Pooh pounced and broke down the wall for their first goal. Dol’s desperate lunge inside the penalty box against a GM player resulted in a penalty kick given by referee Yumnesh. Afiq wasted no time and showed everyone how to take a penalty kick, right from the book. Supersub Fakhrul was an instant hero when he slalomed from the middle of the court and blasted an unstoppable shot beating Akula’s Nazmi. He was there again to punish a mistake by Akula when GM launched a counterattack, getting his second goal of the night. Awe and Afiq were busy making a nuisance for Akula’s defence. Fakhrul could have got a hattrick that night, but Che Pooh took the second penalty kick awarded to GM, making no mistake, and blasted his second of the night. GM is back in business.

Chittapa started off brightly when the combination of Sathiya and Updesh made havoc in the Samba’s defense. Glove-wearing Sathiya had his fair share of shots at the goal and finally broke his duck with a finely taken shot. The first half ended brightly for the Chittapa boys. The new blue jersey brought very good luck indeed it seems. Old boy Thanes delivered a crisp shot that beat the flying Minjie. 2-0 now to Chittapa. Given the free role to attack, Arulbotak wasted no time in getting his name on the scoresheet, playing a nice one-two with a Chittapa fella, finishing it off in style. With Arulkanesh’s ability to play with the ball, the now second half choice goalkeeper was a welcome addition in their tactics, with this meaning almost 5 men in attack instead of 4. Samba proved a tough opposition indeed but Chittapa’s Ganeson rounds it off with their final goal, making the scoreline an impressive 4-0 win for Chittapa.

Players to watch

Che Pooh (GM)-could almost get a hatrick for himself last week
Awe (GM)-constant running and telepathic one-two moments with Afiq
Thanes (Chittapa)-after a long while, managed to score a goal last week
Sathiya (Chittapa)-wearing gloves again this week?

centrebet.com predictions Geng Malaysia 3-3 Chittapa FC

Bukit Tinggi VS Spartans

Bukit Tinggi had Lan as the goalkeeper in the starting line up instead of Murad. From the start, it seems that they intended to make the play as slow as possible as they controlled their tempo and played cautiously. Mate was the sole attacker with Hilman and Anol at the back. There were some tense moments, but Lan was equal to everything and kept his goal in check. Against the run of play, Rafiq scored for Bukit Tinggi first against Saints. The absence of strikers Yan and Mizi proved to be no problem at all it seems. Anol fired some long range shots but though most of it went wayward into the kop, if this was Anfield. Mate didn’t offer much zest in Bukit’s attack but his control of the game was good. Fairuz Bond made a rare entrance and without his afro he looks like a different man. In the 2nd half, Saints’ Agni scored twice to deny Bukit all 3 points, making the score line 2-1. Bukit conceded a penalty when goalkeeper Lan barged a Saints player but as the story goes, he was the hero when he saved Prem’s weak penalty kick but it wasn’t enough to prevent a loss against a highly determined Saints FC.

The odds were stacked against them. Indeed this was a David versus Goliath game. Spartans fought, and fought back well they did. In the early wee moments of the 1st half, Ganesh K hit a rasping shot which shook Rajdave’s goalpost though he was lucky for being alert quick enough. Other than that, it was all about defending. Giving away a silly free kick, they gave away the first goal cheaply after being beaten by a cleverly disguised Lavan free kick. Goalie Faizal had to be on top today as DNC were known to be highly skilled masters of long range goals. The defense were hardworking, but the same could not be said about their tactical play. Countless times they gave away their ball to DNC but they had luck on their side. Rama’s sole goal was a perfectly executed one, right from the textbook. Surrendered they did, but not without a fight.

Players to watch

Mizi (Bukit)- a very hardworking attacker
Lan (Bukit)- a tough goalie, but prone in lack of concentration
Ganesh Kumar (Spartans)- an all out player, not afraid of making any fouls either
Rama (Spartans)-should be high on spirit after scoring a goal last week

paddypower.com predictions Bukit Tinggi 1-3 Spartans

.8th Week Match Preview.

Hey ho. Its the time of the year again. The second half of the season is now on the way and boy it has been awhile. For a time, it seems that everyone has forgotten that M2 still has a futsal league on its own, well with all those exams, holidays and eurotrip, that might not be surprising. Alas, we are now truly ready and on the way. Lets kick some balls.

FC Gastroboi VS Copa Cobana FC

Whatever happened to the giant-killing pink army of last time? They have lost the sort of heavy defending but now has find more fun and joy by banging in goals for a change. Whatever that makes you guys happy lah. They were soundly beaten last time around by GM 4-1, but not without a fight. Its seems that nowadays the Gastro plays are more prettier to watch, with all that gung-ho attacking. Gastro were swept away by the efficiency of GM's attacks and left goalkeeper Jivan too abandoned, with him having to palm away most of the shots. Perhaps we will see a different Gastro this time around? Cometh the man, cometh the hour. Here comes Copa.

In the clashes of egos, Copa as usual attacked mercilessly, only to be brought back down to earth by the neverending spirit of the machas in yellow, Chittapa. Again, the defence has been their own downfall for Copa as the goals that they let was a bit of a loose ball. Kudos to Chittapa though for their gallantry. Never one to surrender that easily, captain Arulkanesh rallied the troops and they beat fellow fancied Copa 4-2. Nasaei has gone, and Copa's squad looks to be trimming, all for the wrong reasons. Interesting to see what this match will become.

Players to watch

Fareez(Gastro)-a newcomer to the league, not much was seen of him,but looks decent in defense
Qye(Gastro)-the captain has the ability to conjure something out of nothing.lookout for his long shots
Alep(Copa)-his trademark surging runs and backtracking to help the defense is valuable to his team
Affiz(Copa)-sometimes has a habit of being butterfingers, but has his occasional flashes of brilliance

Betfair.com predictions Gastro 1-3 Copa

Akula VS Geng Malaysia

Sharkboys are hungry for more food, or must I say, more victories, after their win against the fancied Le Samba. Their hardwork and team spirit paid off handsomely and the sweet smell of success seems to be all too good to be true. Attentions are now on their star striker Zulalip who seems to have taken the league by surprise. With just a few games under his belt, he has chipped in with quite an amount of goals, together with the help of the Jumaat bros, maverick defenders Azzam,Seth,Azwani and also their squad players. Surely, will the unpredictable sharks be able to get a bite against the raging tigers?

Geng Malaysia are in the form of their life right now, with the ghost of the past now gone, this is a new GM altogether, ready to roar and pounce against any opponent. The humbling of Gastro is a stark reminder to others that GM is now back in the reckoning. Che Pooh has now settled in nicely with the GM brotherhood. Pok We is able to make much of the saves look effortless, with the constant running of Awe and Afiq creating havoc for rivals alike. Whatever happened to Hilmi though? Fakhrul will always be a threat with his running, flying and knack of irritating his rival defenders. A tasty match indeed.

Players to watch

Azwani(Akula) – the lynchpin of Akula.lookout for his trademark blocking and through passes
Palong(Akula) – big bro has a penchant of grabbing attentions
Pok We(GM) – solid solid goalie. seems to be the most vocal of all the RFL's keepers
Anip(GM) – doesn't seem too fit to play for more than 5 minutes, but has a stinging shot and like Fakhrul, has the knack of irritating opponents

thestar.com.my predictions Akula 1-4 Geng Malaysia

Le Samba VS Chittapa FC

High flying Samba fell to the might of Akula's shark attack. The Samba dudes have the unfortunate task of trying to halt the fine run of Chittapa, now with the yellow gang finally able to muster some fear into opponents and gain back that togetherness. Samba will count on the effectiveness of attackers Kayrezza, Harin and the pocket rocket VK. If rumors are true, then we will see Min Jie playing as "the wall" again, protecting Samba's goal. They will have a hard time trying to play the hard as nails Chittapa boys.

Chittapa dudes are blasting to the top with a convincing 4-2 win over Copa on their final game of last semester. Finding that they dont necessarily need to have a decent goalkeeper, they now attack other goals with vengeance. Why having only 1 goalkeeper, when you can have 3 or more able people to do as such? Apparently Arulkanesh has found the right formula at the right time. Can Chittapa maintain this positive improvement and wrestle the RFL crown again?
Players to watch

Minjie(Samba)- "the wall" almost let nothing go pass him
Magesh(Samba)- the hardworking defender does not always had the accolade that he deserves
Brahma(Chittapa)- lovely skills and such, he sometimes seems to be alone in attack
Updesh (Chittapa)- multitalented player who has improved his allround game a bit

Onemanga.com predictions Samba 1-3 Chittapa

Bukit Tinggi VS Saints FC

Bottom club Bukit Tinggi would want this game to be in their favor, what with both the teams having a fair amount of the same abilities, with both also in the bottom four. Bukit had a messed up outing last time, having being routed by the ever impressive D'Knights. Although they did found 1 solitary goal. Yan and Mizi surely cannot be responsible for their only source of attack. Rafiq and Anol will provide the brute force in defense with Aiman and Hilman also in the squad, not forgetting the team talisman, Mate. In goal, Murad is an able keeper and looked solid in front of all kind of attackers. If they are desperately wanting some points to go up the table, this is that kind of match they are waiting for.

Saints looked to be in a pity state. A 7-0 drubbing by Dru N Cos surely was a motivational killer for everyone. Losing is surely something that you dont want to keep in your mind before doing your exams, and surely this was the pinnacle of it. The team hasnt really got beyond the second gear, with of course the scramble of attracting able players to play for them being one of its cause. Toh has done well to assemble the team, but perhaps they need more steel in the midfield and determination in defense. Saints to turn on the style.

Players to watch

Hilman(Bukit)-quietly sweeping all kinds of attack
Aiman(Bukit)-not really exposed too much to assess his abilities
Gajaen(Saints)-has made his transition from goalie to goaler seamlessly
Prem(Saints)-always on the run, very hardworking

Espnsoccernet.com predictions Bukit Tinggi 2-1 Saints

Dru N Cos VS Spartans

Currently the fans favorite of being crowned the RFL champions for the first time. The football has been mesmerizing, and sometimes they make playing football like boys against men. Credits to team captain Thiva for instilling a never say die attitude and his heavy fitness regime also paid off. Interesting to see whether they can carry on their impressive momentum. In the last game, they beat Saints 7-0 as they carry on their winning streak. League top scorer Avi was on fire, as does team captain Thiva. Will they be able to continue their dominance against the gritty Spartans?

It has been a roller coaster ride for the league debutants, Spartans. As it is, they are now sitting pretty in 7th place, way beyond expectations. Although they did lost to Boogis just before the first half of the season ended.. Their goalkeeper Faizal has been a revelation with his sharpness and incredible bravery of shot stopping. But it also must be said that they do play the game a little bit rough, a feat unexpected by the opponents. Ganesh K and Ong Wee Kee will gladly put their bodies on the line if only it can bring their team victory. They started impressively against favorites Boogis but could only do as such and finally surrendered 4-1.

Players to watch

Lavan(DNC)-the allrounder has a blast of a shot
Rajdave(DNC)-the goalie's bravery is second to none
Satish(Spartans)-the captain can deliver shots just from anywhere
Wee Kee(Spartans)-swinging boots and all, he runs non-stop like an energizer bunny

Football365.com predictions DNC 5-1 Spartans

Boogis VS D'Knights

Boogis looked to have lost some steam, but they dealt it with a bang, beating the stubborn defense of Spartans 4-1. Riz has been one of the most impressive in the team with his unpredictability and surging runs forward. Dalvin like usual is solid in defense, but has his lack of concentration if the opponent's attack was too quick. Looks like Iqbal has lost some of his magic in his second season of RFL, or indeed the opponents has found a way to stop him somehow. Against DK, expect Boogis to lay down the gauntlet and attack mercilessly for the three points.

High flying DK must surely feel like they're in seventh heaven. The impressive Shan has been on fire for the last few weeks, so does the defense marshalled by the almost impenetrable Damo and Lawrence. Beating Bukit Tinggi 6-1 last time around must surely be moral boosting for the guys in red, but in Boogis, they have a different kind of rivals. Their attack will be spearheaded by Arasan, Lavin and Sam.

Players to watch

Paan(Boogis)- he may look uncomfortable with the ball, but he's in the Boogis goal for a reason
Anand(Boogis)-Boogis newboy taking his time to acclimatise with Boogis' play
Shan(DK)- a supersub?
Kanthaan(DK)-a hardworking player

footyforfools.com predictions Boogis 3-2 DK

.7th Week Match Preview.

Boogis VS Spartans

Boogis lost some ground when they lost a potentially RFL title decider against the brute force of Dru N Cos last time around. They looked out of sorts against a disciplined and organized DNC team hell bent on getting all 3 points. Captain Aman lost his marker and DNC’s Balin straightaway poked home the first goal. Dalvin was not his usual confident self that night, as he was a bit sloppy in trying to defend against DNC’s large size of players (except for Hari). Iqbal was starved of the ball as the combination of Lavan and Yumnesh blocked all passes coming for him and he was as good as a watching supporter on the court. There were some promising moments provided by the speed of Riz at some times. Nevertheless, Boogis are made of hard stuff, and this might be their wake up call. Can they beat their fellow dom35 blockmates, the highly confident army of Sparta? They must step up now to get their title fight back on track.

Highly aggressive and spirited Spartans won against the more fancied and colorful Gastroboi by 2 to 1. This was in no part thanks to the never-say-die attitude of their defense and ability to make quick counter attacks, which took the pink boys by surprise. Fouls were given everywhere, which shows you how much this match meant to them, how much pride they take in their name. Heck, they even foul their own teammates at the same time! Ref Azman had a hard time that night, trying to sort a lot of things out. Spartans did well trying to contain Gastro’s flow of attacks in the 2nd half but they held on to the lead and went home with the 3 points. This time though, they will fight against the might of Boogis, who’s pride has been somehow shattered by last week’s loss to DNC. Spartans should be ready for some waves of red attack.

Players to watch

Azri(Boogis)-not much time seen on the court, but he chips in with some important goals
Bugis(Boogis)-always plays in the 2nd half of the game, hopes to see more of him though
Ganesh P(Spartans)-scored against Gastro last week, this botak guy means serious business
Thamil(Spartans)-a relative newcomer to futsal, don’t let his ‘average Joe’ appearance fool you though

Betfair.com predictions Boogis 4-1 Spartans

Le Samba VS Akula

Brazillian wannabe boys, Le’Samba played the much stronger ‘cant-wait-to-be-married’ lads, Geng Malaysia. Predictions were against Samba but damn did they prove the ‘i-think-I’m-shebby’ football pundits otherwise. Instead, they manage to even showcase some samba dance moves in front of the goal before trying to score. Of course their efforts went futile, but the playmaking was applauded. Samba made some good passes, excellent attempts at scoring but the finishing touches were missing though. GM were seen sweating trying to keep up at times. For most part of the game, it was pretty much 50-50 with both teams trying to push each other but lady luck wasn’t even bothered to watch this game. A solid 1 point secured for Samba but that was only enough to bring them down a step at the league table. They should watch out though, as other teams are able to leapfrog them in just one week in the RFL table. Against Akula, Samba should stop dancing, writhing about and start scoring goals. They have the talent, but only lacks in confidence and speed. Will they be able score against the tenacity of the sharks? This time they should pray for lady luck to stay !

The red sharkies, jaws, nemo, whichever you prefer went up against Chittapa FC (Uncle FC in translation). Of course the odds were stacked against them. Of course CFC was expected to cruise through this game. Of course only one side of the net was supposed to rattle. BUT, this is futsal. Ball is round, anything can happen. And Akula did prove this right. Throughout the 1st half, Akula and CFC had almost equal possession of the ball with CFC hitting the post a few times. But (a lot of ‘buts’ in this), it was Akula who found the back of the net in the 9th minute when Zul (Anne’s bro, wa tak tau ah nama dia), took a shot only to be found too fast for the CFC goalie. Sadly, It pretty much went down after that when CFC came roaring back to equalize and get back the lead seconds before the game ended. Pretty tough resilience for a team at the bottom of the table. With renewed confidence in their team, Akula should perform well against the Malaysian ‘Brazilians’. Sharks do attack humans after all. Can they hold their ground against the dancing Samba like they did against CFC or will they dance along to the rhythm? This should be an interesting one if not boring.

Players to watch

Abz (Samba) – known for scoring at times but better known for his lazy looking passes. Or maybe he was really lazy. He better push if he wants to score.
Lingesh (Samba) – steady defender but yet to be credited for his efforts. Can he rise to the occasion?
Seth (Akula) – missed a few one-on-ones last game. Maybe he can make up for it this time? Had a friendly chat with the ref last time around, resulting in a yellow card. Naughty boy.
Busu (Akula) – has shown some light to attack force. Hopefully he shines it towards the goal!

thestar.com.my predictions Samba 1-1 Akula

Bukit Tinggi VS De’Knights

Bukit Tinggi fought against the Copa blues last week. It started off with a wonderful opportunity by Mizi who managed to outfox the keeper and was about to score only to be disappointed by captain Shazli-kun who came in for the rescue. Opportunity striked again for Bukit and this time Mate failed to score with a wonderful rugby drop-kick. Finally Copa had enough, and a goal from a nice 1-2 passes from Nasaie and Hadiey broke the dead lock. It didn’t take long before Copa scored again, Hadiey again, just shoving himself to divert a Shafiq shot. In the 2nd half a penalty was awarded to Bukit by ref Avi. A powerful shot by striker Yan was saved by Boo which rebounded to Mizi (who was supposed to be behind the ball!!! REF KAYU) who cleared the ball for Copa. 6th min in the 2nd half, Boo landed a sucker punch (literally) on Yan while trying to clear the ball. (He claimed he did it unintentionally. We think otherwise though. Probably early morning handball training kot.) Yan retired from the match with epitasis. 2 more goals from Copa came in the end. Final score 4-0. Bukit has loads of players but the lack of pace was evidence from their previous matches, with only Mizi, Yan and perhaps being the torch bearers. Against a team with a strong momentum, De’ Knights, they will surely want to beat the odds and get out of the rotten RFL zone.

De’Knights played Saints last week. The match was a pretty defensive one as soon as it took off with both sides having very little chances in front of the goal. However things got interesting when Saints captain Toh scored his 1st ever goal in his career thanks to Knights’ keeper who mishandled the ball straight into goal. DK switched to offensive mode and pressured Saints but they defended well against the wounded Knights. 1st half ended. It did not take long for DK to find the equaliser in the 2nd half. An excellent shot from the guy with the misai, Shan, left Toh unable to respond. Sometime later Shan was there again and DK took the lead due to some sloppy defending from Saints. Crumbling Saints let in another goal a few min later, a marvelous shot from Damo. Down 2 goals, Captain Toh stood up as a striker. (Probably he must have thought...If i could score a goal as a keeper, I should be able to score a hat-trick in striker mode.) His efforts were in vain as DK scored yet another goal. Knights keeper Lavin made a cameo and showed his dribbling skills, which almost ended in being a goal. 4-1 victory to De’Knights. Truly a heroic game from them. If they can carry this devastating form, and uphold their come-from-behind ability, this will be 3 points in the bag.

Players to watch

Mate(BT)- A former fearful uni defender who has lost fitness but just imagine if he got his form back.
Yan(BT)- A very hardworking player, who is good with his shots.
Damo(DK)- The never say die attitude in him makes him a very tough opponent.
Lavin (DK)- A very agile goal keeper with amazing goal saving abilities.

Onemanga.com predictions Bukit Tinggi 1-3 De’ Knights

Geng Malaysia VS Gastroboi

GM without Afiq really was a like a tiger losing some teeth. Only in the 2nd half they did they threaten Samba’s goal a little. Fakhrul did his best trying to run his way through the Samba defenses but they stood firm, with the bouncer-like appearance of Lingesh and Magesh. GM were a bit sloppy and slow in their defenses, with many times keeper Pok We having to thank the goal posts for being there, and thankful also for the wasteful Samba strikers, time and time again. Without Afiq for most of the team, GM weren’t able to stretch Samba’s defenses, and they desperately need to have Fakhrul and Afiq working together to wreck havoc up front, or maybe with the help of Awe. They might fancy their chances against a relatively low motivated Gastro team.

What happened to the Gastroboi of old? Having abandoned their tough defending policy, they took some stride with some free flowing attacking moves, though perhaps the chances up front were not taken good enough by their strikers. The strikeforce of Nabil and Nfizree showed some promise for the past couple of games, but it wasn’t enough for Gastro last week against the kamikaze Spartans. Perhaps they were not ready for all those kind of physical attacks, but futsal can be anything, and if they are not careful enough, they will be bullied by other RFL teams as well. The return of the misfiring Zufar (like Robbie Keane) should enhance their attack, but they also should instill some high spirit and confidence in themselves, which was clearly lacking in the past couple of games. They still have the quality to shock the opponents though.

Players to watch

Awe(GM)-a very hardworking player, mostly at his devastating best in front of the goal
Akmal(GM)-lanky handball player now lets his feet do the talking
Jivan(Gastro)-shows more promise in training than in the league
Zufar(Gasro)-last season’s favorite striker raring to make a comeback

Espnsoccernet.com predictions GM 3-1 Gastro

Copa Cobana VS Chittapa FC

On form Copa rampaged slowly, yet surely to the top 2 of the league. Just like G15 last year. De ja vu? We’ll just wait and see. Against Bukit Tinggi last week, they slowly took the game to themselves and in the end managed to pierce through Bukit’s defenses with 4 goals unopposed. Shazli might find life is tough at the other end of the court as a part time defender, but his awareness was totally crucial for Copa, so as not to give up any sloppy goals. Hadiey is slowly getting his groove back, with the help of probably the most improved player in Copa, Shafiq the Bazooka. This guy can shoot from any angle, with some power that is. If he can keep up his goalscoring form, current league top scorer Avinesh could find a fist-for-fist match. Nasaei is crucial to Copa as much of Copa’s goals from the past 4 weeks came from his assists and hardwork. The match against UMNO Cup Champions Chittapa should be a tight affair, and we should expect some neat passes and powerful shots from both sides.

Chittapa were stunned when they went down first against a truly hardworking Akula team. The sharks disappointed Chittapa over and over again, and Chittapa’s strikers just couldn’t find that right angle to squeeze the ball inside Akula’s net, firmly guarded by Azwani and Seth. Akula striker Zul Alif, who’s hard work reminded me of Dirk Kuyt, squeezed through bewildered 3 Chittapa defenders and fired a shot that beat stunned captain Arulkanesh. Enraged, Arulkanesh motivates his fellow yellow chaps to fire up and step up their tempo, which they firmly did, with Updesh scoring first when he was unmarked at the post. Defender Ganeson stepped up and coolly slots his sides’ 2nd goal, from his trademark long shot which beaten Akula’s Nazmi. Chittapa were made to sweat by Akula, but in the end of the game, they got the 3 points they wanted, but it was a wake up call. Captain Arulkanesh surely wants his yellow men to keep focus for the full 20minutes against a strong Copa Cobana.

Players to watch

Boo (Copa)-the beefy goalkeeper is not afraid to land a punch on anyone, just ask Yan about it
Shafiq (Copa)-able to time his shots perfectly, and his shots are razor sharp
Updesh (Chittapa)-good dribbling skills, needs to perfect his positioning more
Brahma (Chittapa)-a player with ups and downs, a world beater at any given day, though he can go back to zero at the next day

Football365.com predictions Copa 3-1 Chittapa

Dru N Cos VS Saint’s FC

Last week the dudes from DNC dominated the field once again. Brought out the best in them and they layeth the smacketh down on the opposition. Thanks to light-feet Balin and el-kapitan Thiva, the final score was 2 to 0. With DNC’s superb performance week after week, this coming week against Saints will be no different, so expect nothing less from them. They got this man!!! Nuff said ;)

Another disappointing loss for Saints as they were defeated by De’Knights 4 to 1. It left them warming up the 9th place on the table. Didn’t quite hold up to the colors of their jerseys as like renowned football teams like Netherlands, G-15 and many more. But nevertheless they tried their best and that’s what matters most. But their next game would be much tougher so they should rethink strategies and plays. A note of advice, if you guys miraculously score and gain the lead, think defense and nothing more. All the best!!

Players to watch

Hari(DNC)- small build guy for defensive compared to the others, but don’t let that fool you, he’s there for a reason
Lavan(DNC)-one of DNC’s greatest assets, packs up one hell of a kick
Toh(Saints)- will bring his A-game against the leading team in RFL
Agni(Saints)-there’s more to this guy than meets the eye. A miracle-maker.

footyforfools.com predictions DNC 5-0 Saints

So that said, enjoy the final games before the winter break! =)

.6th Week Match Preview.

Good news for RFL fans and enthusiasts. Marat is happy to tell that for this week, the previews, as opposed of just being a one man army job, has been thoroughly spread out and..okla straight to the point. For this week, the RFL Match Review team comprised of four people, the aforementioned Marat, last week debutant Michio, and the welcomed newbies Pakfak2005 and his good buddy Sagat. Below is a short biography of them. Not necessarily accurate though.

Sagat

Sagat, with his fearsome look and scary face, plus the stylish scars made by Ryu, doesnt cross you as a friendly guy. But once you get to know him, he's as friendly as a Thai Airways stewardess. Or steward,if you're on the other side of things.. Sagat, not like his name-sake from Thailand, actually hails from the wild and untamed savanna and wilderness of Africa. His mom gave him the name Sagat as he likes to kick so much like a kickboxer when he was still in the belly. He likes football so much, and he trains by playing with his pet cheetah and hyenas. Which is why he has the most passion for cars, football and Lamborghini Murcielago. He enters journalism like fish taking on water, with his favorite team, that jolly red half of Greater Manchester.

Pakfak2005

Pakfak2005 means business. Well if you've been in Russia for almost 4 years, you should be. Also a madman for that red Manchester team, he has previously helped Marat, though uncredited, for some of the previews before. His dream is to become as likable as Jeremy Clarkson, and being cocky on the field like Eric Cantona. He claims studying pakfak fully in Russian language has given him much knowledge, plus a bit of trauma. His hobby is watching anime, drawing nonsense pictures when he gets bored in class, playing jokes with Ali Al-sabounchi,being friendly with Ramu from the store downstairs (sudah makan?mau beli ayam?dua ayam?)and finally, counting his bulu kaki. He talks a lot, and maybe should pursue a career in rapping once he finished serving the country in medicine.

Geng Malaysia VS Le’ Samba

The Geng Married as expected was a tough opponent for the glory hunting DNC, now sporting navy blue jerseys with matching white shorts. 20 seconds in the game top scorer Avinesh found the back of the GM net but heck that did not bring GM down. Led by the always positive Afiq, they fought back and gain an equaliser due to some sloppy defending by DNC. The match was heated up as GM tamed DNC’s strikers, frustrating them during the 1st half. However during the 2nd half, probably buoyed by some motivational talk by captain Fernando Thiva plus lack of communication and concentration by GM players, DNC hit back in style. GM lost focus and the results was a victory for DNC 6-1. Keeper Pok We looked confident after the UMNO Cup run which they ended being the 4th best team of the tournament. Awe looking more and more accustomed to the pace of GM and Fakhrul is looking back to his flying best.

The Samba boys lived up to the Brazilian style of football. Plenty of passes and a few nice 1-2 touches proved that the boys in bright yellow or green (not really sure) had the quality to put up a fight with any teams in RFL. Opponent Bukit Tinggi who lacked a bit of fitness, had their fair share of chances but only to be denied by the super agile keeper Min Jie. Probably its good to have 4 eyes. Kay Rezza scored both goals to secure victory for Le’Samba. Yan from BT pulled one goal back but it wasn’t quite enough as the final whistle blew. Samba is quietly propping up the RFL table, and can now count themselves as a successful team, being in the better half of the table. They need to watch their back though, as keeper Min Jie surely couldn’t stop that many shots on goal without proper assistance in defense.

Players to watch

Kay Rezza(Samba)- A tall player with skills but sometimes got a bit blurry.
Harin(Samba)- Talented player but holds and caress the ball too long at times.
Pokwe(GM)- A keeper who is willing to sacrifice his nose for the team, a truly kamikaze keeper.
Fakhrullah(GM)- Probably the fastest player in RFL with unpredictable skills. Pity for him, the court is a bit too short.

soccernet.com predictions GM 3-1 Samba

Spartans VS FC Gastroboi

Spartans HAooo... these guys came in to the field hoping to find their 1st ever victory for this season of RFL, and guess what they did it. They proved that there is still fighting spirit in them. Rama, (a defender) showed the Spartans strikers how to get the job done. Leading one goal drove them to score another. On the other hand Akula did not play their best game last week. They were pacified by the undying spirit of Spartans. Not many chances for Akula and a full deserved win by Spartans. Keeper Faizal by the way managed to get his first clean sheet of the season. He also played a major part by helping Chittapa FC being the champions of UMNO Cup for the first time. Confidence is high amongst the Spartans. Bring on Xerxes’ army!

Gastroboi started the match with flare and confidence. Well they should be really, with the unexpected Dinie making his debut in between the posts, being the goalkeeper. This time with Nabil leading the offence, they were fierce and tidy, helped by the aggression of Nfizree. Opportunities were converted to two beautiful goals by Gastroboi. Leading by 2 goals,Gastro got a little bit overconfident and from there, their downfall begun. De’ Knights led by Damo regrouped and within an instant found the equaliser. Gastro kept on sinking when DK scored another 2 goals to emerge as victors, 4-2. Gastro without star defender Naqib were only able to watch DK’s comeback. It is not sure yet whether Dinie will keep on playing as goalie or with the able Jivan, but surely 2 goalkeepers is too much for a team! It seems that Gastro this time around has sacrificed their fierce defensive approach to a more attractive attacking style. But is it worth it?

Players to watch

Rama(Spartan)- High paced defender and able to perform counter-attacks
Satish(Spartan) – The striker with powerful shots and waiting to explode.
Naqib(Gastro)- A no nonsense defender
Nabil(Gastro)- A deadly striker who is able to lose his marker within a flash with fancy moves.

skysports.com predictions Spartans 1-1 Gastro

Boogis VS Dru N Cos

Boogis really put on a show last week facing the reborn again Copa Cobana. In the early part of the game the opposition scored but it wasn’t enough to bring this team down. They push it up upfront trying to make it to the net but right until the end of first half the ball just couldn’t make it through the goal. It was only during starting of 2nd half that “poser” Iqbal Baros (a dude who likes to pose) scored one for the team but it wasn’t that long until Copa scored another one by penalty, awarded after Aman mistakenly fouled by hand. Again it didn’t stop the red machine from playing their best and their effort paid off when Azri scored an equalizer near to the end of the game. It was a tie but probably things could have gone differently if Riz hadn’t retired early from the game. Well that’s just how futsal is… filled with lots of possibilities, anything can happen!!! Hmmm… Will something happen in their next game with DnC??? Let’s just wait and find out ;)

“Kacang Putih” is probably the appropriate word to describe DnC’s last game with GM. They totally had the opposition playing in their pace and took the chance to score as an opportunity opens up. Thumb’s up on a good plan and strategy. Well that just shows that this team is not all brute strength. They do have brains to come with those sheer power of a kick. They’re medic students waaat!! ;P Anyways futsal is anyone’s game. It is proven by the fact that they lost to MAI (of all teams) and even didn’t make it pass group stage in SUKOM last week. What a pity. But there’s a saying, “what does not kill ya’ will only make ya’ stronger”. So with that said expect DnC to be cautiously on their toes, bringing their best forms tomorrow night, playing the most beautiful game in the world… Hell yeah!!!

Players to watch

Aman(Boogis)-known as Boogis’ sniper. It would be amazing to see his sharpshooting skills in the field tomorrow.
Paan(Boogis)-his skill will finally be put into test, going up against a formidable team with superb shooting skills.
Yumnesh(DNC)- a skillful player, scores in such a creative way.
Thiva(DNC)-the main man behind em’ all. How would he bring his team this time in a would be historical match.

skysport.net predictions Boogis 2-4 DNC

Bukit Tinggi VS Copa Cobana

Bukit Tinggi caught it close last week against Le Samba. They lost it short of one goal 1 – 2. One goal being scored by RSMU’s favourite handball captain Yan aka Apek (handball tryouts are currently held every week. Plz contact him if interested :D ). This team has been warming up the 10th place in the table for quite awhile. Probably ladyluck was just not on their side. But things could turn around for them at any moment, heck probably this Saturday night. So come on down and let’s see this guys give it their all. GO HIGH HILL!!

Luck is an important factor in a game. Copa Cobana was really down on it last week for they could have taken the victory home if it wasn’t for the last minute goal by the opposition. In the end it was a tie 2 to 2. Hey, look at the brightside, a tie is still better than a loss. But I know for a fact that this does not change one thing a bit. For your favourite guys in Blue does not entirely depend on luck, they are also hardworking and persistent which is a good trait in futsal. So ladies and gents, work hard as well in cheering for this team. Good luck Copa!!

De’ Knights VS Saints FC

The knights in the not so shining armors pulled of a predicted win against the unstable pink lads, Gastroboi. Looks like Damo’s knights of the square table got their head and feet together and brought home 3 sweet points to the bag. Good going for the knights. They never gave up even though they were 0-2 down, and they thoroughly deserve the 3 points. Damo will again be the stalwart in defense, the midfield masterminded by Lawrence, Sam and company, with Arasan or PK ready to bang in the goals up front. Good times ahead for De’ Knights.

Followed by the 9-2 rampage by the fluid Copa, Toh’s men in orange (Holland impersonators) were again defeated this time by the yellow fellos, CFC. Saints looked like they might just pull off a surprise win when they were leading early on with a superb header by Agni, yet again, scoring against a big team. But their confidence were smashed when Chittapa came back to wallop them 4 goals to 1. Toh’s goal throw might not look pretty to the eyes, but they are surely effective, and most of his goal throws has unsettled one too many teams. Agni is also building a reputation for being a fearsome prospect in air battles, scoring fantastic goals with his head, despite his slight build of a body. Another team in new attires and uniform, a new regained spirit perhaps.

Will the ‘unholy’ Saints hold their defense against the Knights or will the Knights slay Toh’s army? On paper, DK looks slightly better with Arasan and Damo on opposite ends, providing stiff and physical resistance. Rumors has it that Toh is jealous with Agni for scoring ‘important’ and flashy goals that he might just put Agni in as goalie or on the bench. An interesting thing to ponder about..

Players to watch

PK (saints) – new but a prospective player, hopefully he proves himself to the team
Gajean (saints) – will his feet act as much as he talks, hopefully he scores another cheeky one
Lawrence (DK) – believes in his shots more than his passes, can he crack another one? Hopefully not someone’s feet la
Arasan (DK) – a thoroughbred striker but needs to communicate better with his team.

Chittapa FC VS Akula

Newly crowned UMNO Cup champions Chittapa FC has a new trophy to be put beside the inaugural first RFL Champions trophy. Fresh from a confident win against Saints last week, they steadily pass through the rounds and in the end won the coveted UMNO Cup. Against a plucky Saints side last week, they kept their cool and keep on pushing for a win as captain Arulkanesh stands in as goalie. Individual brilliance from Chittapa’s players brought dividends as goals from Arulananthasivam, Ganesan, Sathiya and Updesh settled the score at 4-1. This week, expect them to build on their confidence against a struggling Akula side.

Akula showed some nice football last week against Spartans but their inability to finish some attacking moves proved to be their downfall. Most of the Akula members played in the UMNO Cup and surprisingly beat the odds, getting into the knock out stages before surrendering, not before a fight, against a GM team on form. The team chemistry is slowly building, but they need more finishing and confident defending from the team itself. Newbie Zulalip shows that he can be a handful and scored some goals lately, but the team needs more from other players.

Players to watch

Arulkanesh(Chittapa)-his hard work in getting his teammates to train every week is paying off handsomely
Updesh(Chittapa)-has been limited to sub appearances only, but don’t rule out his work ethic just yet
Seth(Akula)-looked impressive whenever he brings forward the ball, though needs to find support
Palong(Akula)-the captain has his occasional hair raising moves, in an entertaining kind of way
